2016 Maison Noire SyrahMaison Noire is a small vineyard on the Waimarama Road, looking out to sea and surrounded by rolling hills. French winemaker Guillaume, along with NZ born wife Esther, have joined together to present a range of truly boutique wines from Hawkes Bay.
They Grow Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. Soils at the site are rich and black with a clay base, sloping gently towards the coast. Due to the small size of their vineyard, they also source grapes from various growers in Hawkes Bay. This region has an amazing number of microclimates and terroirs, each of them giving unique characters to the different grape varieties that are grown here.
You will be able to order wines and pay on the night using Visa or Eftpos. It will be like going to France without the long flight.
See all past club events from February 1985.
