Presenter: Doug Haynes - Winemaker and ViticulturistHawkes Ridge Wine Estate is a family-owned, boutique cellar door, vineyard, winery and olive grove located in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
Their name and logo were chosen to symbolise the contour of their property and the Hawks that soar along the ridge formed by the ancient Ngaruroro River, as depicted above.
Hawkes Ridge encourages wine drinkers to ‘try something different.’ Along with the more well-known varieties Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, they produce lesser-known varieties Viognier, Semillon and Tempranillo.
The wines for the evening are:
- C’est Beau Rosé to start
- Deux Blancs Semillon
- Viognier
- Rosado Rosé
- Pinot Noir
- Syrah
- Tempranillo
- and a late harvest to end.

Members’ prize draw is at each meeting, but you must be present to win. We also have a raffle draw to be won. Purchase your tickets at the door and be in to win.

Members will be aware of lowering drink/drive limits from December 2014. If unsure, read the Land Transport Amendment Act (no 2) 2014. We ask members to be conscious of these limits. For those driving, water and some food are provided or think about a designated driver, taxi, Uber, or dial-a-driver to get you home safely.

Anne is collecting them to give to the Lions organised Kan Tabs for Kids. No food lids or beer tops, please. Save and bring them to the next monthly meeting.
