    Tasting - Villa Maria

    Cost: Members $12 Guests $16

    Details: Villa Maria Estate Viticulturist Jono Hamlet will present a range of VM’s organic range of wines. Wines to be tasted include:

    • 2011 Private Bin Organic Gewurztraminer
    • 2013 Private Bin Organic Merlot
    • 2013 Cellar Selection Organic Sauvignon Blanc
    • 2013 Cellar Selection Organic Merlot
    • 2012 Single Vineyard Ihumatao Organic Verdelho
    • 2013 Single Vineyard Templar Sauvignon Blanc

    We will also be treated to some more interesting varieties from some of the 15 varieties of ‘barrel samples’ produced across the Hawkes Bay. We won’t be tasting them all on the night but these will provide us with an interesting wine experience.

Member prize draw

The members’ prize draw takes place at each meeting, but you must be present to win. We also have a raffle draw to be won. Purchase your tickets at the door and be in to win.

Drinking and driving

Members will be aware of the lowering of drink/drive limits from December 2014. If you are unsure, refer to the Land Transport Act 1998. We ask members to be conscious of these limits. For those driving, water and some food are provided. Alternatively, consider designating a driver, using a taxi, Uber, or dial-a-driver to ensure a safe ride home.

Wine bottle screw caps

The club is collecting wine bottle screw caps to donate to the Lions in support of Kidney Kids NZ. No food lids or beer tops, please. Save and bring them to the next monthly meeting.
